Dress Code
Begin Ballet is dedicated to making every dancer feel confident and comfortable while learning the art of ballet. We do not recommend the purchase of ballet attire until you have completed your first few classes with us. For your first few classes, athletic wear such as leggings, a loose fitting top, and some socks, will suffice.
Classical Ballet Attire
Once you fall in love with your first week of Begin Ballet, we will encourage the purchase of proper ballet attire.

Ballet dancers typically wear specific types of clothing when they dance. For women, this typically includes a leotard, ballet tights, and ballet shoes. For men, it may include a dance belt, tights, and ballet shoes. In addition to these basic items, dancers may also wear a tutu or other ballet skirt for performances, or a ballet sweater or wrap for warmth during class.

There are two dancewear shops in the area we recommend visiting: Movin Easy and Dancers Closet. Mention Begin Ballet sent you!
Leotard
There is a wide selection of affordable ballet leotards on Discount Dance Supply.
Hair Pins
Bobby pins or hair pins can be found at any local convenience store. However I prefer the above pins for thicker hair from Discount Dance Supply.
Ballet Tights
Ballet tights are classically worn underneath the leotard. Quality tights can be found on Danskin or Body Wrappers.
Warmups
Warmups are worn to keep the dancer's body warm during barre or the first few combinations of class. Warmups are found on most major dance wear brand sites. Checkout Discount Dance Supply.
Ballet Flats
Ballet flats help you better move across the floor. I personally prefer canvas flats over leather. The best ballet flats are found on So Danca.
