Class Descriptions

Intro to Ballet

  • 0+ years of experience

    • This session is designed for the absolute beginner. An excellent opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing ballet, but aren't quite ready to sign up for the workshop. Dancers will learn about upper body placement, fundamental ballet terminology, and ballet class structure. If you have the ballet class structure, terminology, and tempo mastered, we suggested you head straight into our Beginner class! If you prefer to revisit the fundamentals, this class would be a great start. (Note: This class will begin to feel repetitive in nature when taken frequently. Dancers looking to learn ballet start to finish should register for our workshop!)

Beginner Ballet (Workshop Graduates)

  • 6 months - 3 years of experience

    • Tailored specifically for graduates of the Beginners Guide to Ballet Workshop. This is not a fast paced class. This class is ideal for students who have had previous ballet training and are now seeking to return to it in steady stride. The lesson will follow a typical ballet class format, with ample opportunities for corrections and improvements. Dancers must have most ballet and center terminology mastered from plie to grand jete.

Advanced Beginner

  • 6 months - 3 years of experience

    • This class is for students that graduated from workshop AND have also been taking Beginner classes consistently (1-2x/week) for at least 6 months prior to registering. This is a faster paced class than the Beginner class. Dancers must have most ballet and center terminology mastered from plie to grand jete. This class is not recommended for dancers returning to ballet who have taken a significant amount of time off. We do ask you kindly message beginballet@gmail.com before booking just to be sure the class is a good fit!
